Charith Asalanka is a Sri Lankan left-handed middle-order batter and part-time off-break bowler who has captained Sri Lanka in One Day International cricket. He was educated at Richmond College in Galle, captained the national under-19 side and was named Sri Lanka's schoolboy cricketer of the year in both 2015 and 2016, only the seventh player to win the award twice. Asalanka scored 114 and took four for 34 for Galle on his first-class debut in April 2015. He made his international debut in June 2021.
