CricZone is an Australian cricket publication at www.criczone.com.au. These terms apply whenever you read the site or hold a CricZone account. Reading CricZone is free and does not require an account.

Important

Your consumer rights are not affected

Nothing on this page excludes, restricts or modifies any right or guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where anything here appears to, the law applies and this page does not.

What is available today

CricZone publishes cricket journalism, match coverage, scores, fixtures, and reference pages for teams and players. All of it is free to read.

A free account lets you save stories, follow teams and players, build a feed from them, and see and end the sign-ins on your account.

Paid membership is not available and the shop is not taking orders. No payment can be taken through this site. If you see a price anywhere on CricZone, it is not an offer you can currently accept.

The membership terms say what that means for membership, and the returns and delivery pages say what it means for the shop.

Reading, linking and quoting

You may read CricZone, link to any page on it, and quote briefly from it with attribution.

You may not:

  • republish an article, a photograph or a video in full without permission
  • scrape the site, or take its scores and statistics in bulk for another service
  • present CricZone's work as somebody else's
  • remove or obscure a byline, a credit or a correction notice

Republishing, syndication and photograph licensing are covered on Rights and permissions, which is also where to ask.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what is done through your account.

  • Give an email address that reaches you. Account notices are sent there.
  • One person to an account.
  • Tell us promptly if you think somebody else has used your account.

You can ask us to close your account at any time. Write to us and we will do it. What happens to the records attached to it is set out in the privacy notice.

We can suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms. Where we do, we say why.

Anything you post

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give CricZone permission to publish it on the site and to keep publishing it as part of the discussion it belongs to.

Do not post:

  • anything unlawful, defamatory, or that harasses or threatens a person
  • abuse directed at a player, an official, a writer or another reader
  • material that infringes somebody else's copyright
  • advertising, spam, or repeated links to the same destination
  • anything you would not put your name to

We can remove a post, close a discussion, or suspend an account for breaking these rules. Serious or repeated breaches end the account.

What we publish, and when we get it wrong

Articles, match reports, photography, video and statistics on CricZone are ours or are used under licence.

Errors are corrected rather than quietly edited. A correction is published on the piece it corrects, carries the date it was made, and stays there.

How the newsroom decides what to publish is set out in Editorial standards. How to tell us we got something wrong is on Corrections and complaints.

Where a machine is involved in preparing something for publication, How CricZone uses AI says where and how it is disclosed.

Advertising and commercial content

Where a piece is commercially arranged, it is labelled on the piece itself rather than in a policy somewhere else. Advertising is separated from editorial and is never presented as reporting.

Links to other sites

CricZone links to other sites, and articles can embed video hosted elsewhere. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for what they publish or what they do with your information. Their terms and their privacy notices apply once you are there.

Availability, and the limits of live data

We do not promise that CricZone will be available without interruption, or that every page will be free of error.

Live scores in particular depend on data supplied by third parties and can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. A score on this site is not an official record. Where a scorecard may be out of date, the page says so.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, the new version is published here with its version number and the date it takes effect, both shown at the top of this page.

Every published version is kept. If you need to know what these terms said on a particular date, write to us and quote the date.

If something goes wrong

Write to us through the contact form. Every message is recorded with a reference before anything is emailed, and routed to the desk that can answer it. Quote the reference and we can find the thread.

Register for the CricZone letter

CricZone does not send a newsletter yet. This is a register of interest: leave your address and it goes on the list a first letter would be written for.

Your address is kept for this and nothing else, and it is never passed on. Ask us through the contact form and we will take it off the list.
