D'Arcy Short is an Australian left-handed opening batter and left-arm unorthodox spinner who plays for Western Australia and the Adelaide Strikers. Born in Katherine in the Northern Territory and of Indigenous Australian descent, he grew up playing indoor cricket in Darwin and won the Lord's Taverners Indigenous Cricketer of the Year award in 2011. Short was named player of the tournament in the 2017-18 Big Bash League. He made his Australia debut in February 2018 and shared a Twenty20 International opening stand of 223 with Aaron Finch against Zimbabwe later that year.
