About Nathan McSweeney

Nathan McSweeney is an Australian right-handed top-order batter and occasional off-spinner who represented Australia in Test cricket in 2024. He scored 156 against Papua New Guinea at the 2018 Under-19 World Cup and made his first-class debut for Queensland that season, moving to South Australia in 2021. McSweeney captained the Brisbane Heat to a Big Bash League title in 2023-24 in Usman Khawaja's absence, and in his first season as captain of South Australia led the state to both the Sheffield Shield and the one-day cup, its first Shield title in 29 years. He has also captained Australia A and the Prime Minister's XI.
