About Sophie Devine
Sophie Devine is a New Zealand cricketer who has also represented the country at field hockey, having played for the Black Sticks before concentrating on cricket. She is known for batting without a helmet, unusual in the modern game. Devine was named in the ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year for 2017, was awarded a New Zealand Cricket central contract in 2018 and was appointed captain of the White Ferns in July 2020. She played her hundredth Twenty20 international in September 2021.
