Temba Bavuma is a South African right-handed batter who has played for the national side since 2014. In 2016 he became the first black African cricketer to score a Test century for South Africa, and scored a century on his one-day international debut later that year. He is South Africa's first black African captain, appointed to lead the one-day side in 2021 and the Test side in 2023, and captained the team that won the World Test Championship of 2023 to 2025.
