About Argentina
Argentina are run by the Argentine Cricket Association, which became an associate member of the International Cricket Council in 1974. The game arrived with British immigrants, and the side's first recorded international was played against Uruguay in 1868, with Brazil following in 1888 and Chile in 1893. Argentina played thirteen first-class matches between 1912 and 1938, all of them against teams touring from England. The side took part in the first ICC Trophy, in 1979, and helped found the South American Championship in 1995 alongside Brazil, Chile and Peru.
