England Women represent England and Wales and have been governed by the England and Wales Cricket Board since 1998, having previously been run by the Women's Cricket Association. They played in the first women's Test match, against Australia in 1934, and the two sides now contest the Women's Ashes. England won the first Women's Cricket World Cup, on home soil in 1973, and again in 1993, 2009 and 2017, and took the inaugural women's world Twenty20 title in 2009.
