About Ireland

Ireland field an all-island side, run by the Irish Cricket Union under the name Cricket Ireland. The team's first recorded match was in 1855, its first first-class match in 1902, and a fixture against Scotland dates from 1888. Ireland joined the International Cricket Council as an associate in 1993 and, with Afghanistan, became a Full Member with Test status in June 2017. Wins over Pakistan and Bangladesh at the 2007 World Cup confirmed the side's one-day international standing.
