About Jamaica

Jamaica play inter-regional cricket in the Caribbean rather than international fixtures, and their best players appear for the West Indies. The team's history dates from 1895, when it played three matches against a touring side from England, but the distance to the other cricketing territories meant Jamaica did not play regular first-class cricket until 1964, and it later took part in the inaugural Shell Shield. The side competes in the Regional Four Day Competition and the Regional Super50 as the Jamaica Scorpions, and plays at Sabina Park in Kingston. George Headley, Michael Holding, Courtney Walsh and Chris Gayle all played for Jamaica.
