About Malta
Malta are organised by the Malta Cricket Association, which became an affiliate member of the International Cricket Council in 1998 and an associate member in 2017. A Maltese side played as early as 1891, when an XVIII of Malta met an English team travelling to Australia, but a national team was not revived until 1990, for the European Cricketer Cup in Guernsey. Malta have since appeared regularly in European Cricket Council competitions. Home matches are played at the Marsa Cricket Ground, and the first Twenty20 International was against Spain in March 2019.
