About New Zealand

New Zealand are organised by New Zealand Cricket and have been known as the Black Caps since 1998, when a sponsor's competition chose the name. The side played its first Test in 1930, against England at Christchurch, becoming the fifth country to play at that level, and waited until 1956 for a first Test win. New Zealand won the inaugural World Test Championship, in 2021, and the Champions Trophy in 2000. They were runners-up at the men's World Cups of 2015 and 2019.
