About Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland do not play in International Cricket Council competitions. Cricket on the island is organised on an all-Ireland basis by Cricket Ireland, and players from Northern Ireland represent the Ireland cricket team. A separate Northern Ireland side has been raised only once for an international tournament, at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, which the Republic of Ireland could not enter as it is not a member of the Commonwealth. Northern Ireland lost to South Africa and Barbados at that tournament and beat Bangladesh, bowling their opponents out for 63.
