About Sydney Sixers
The Sydney Sixers are a men's Twenty20 franchise in the Big Bash League, playing home matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The club was formed for the league's first season in 2011-12 and, with the Sydney Thunder, succeeded the New South Wales side that had played in the earlier Twenty20 Big Bash. Trevor Bayliss was the club's first coach. The league was established by Cricket Australia in 2011 and is contested by eight city-based teams.
