About Wales Women
Wales are not a separate member of the International Cricket Council, and Welsh players are represented by the England women's team. The side's first recorded match was against Scotland in 2002, and it entered the English county structure in 2004. Wales competed internationally once, at the 2005 Women's European Championship, which they hosted, beating Ireland and Scotland to finish third. The team won three successive promotions in the Women's County Championship between 2008 and 2010 and now plays in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, with home matches at grounds including Spytty Park in Newport.
