About Wales
Wales are not a separate member of the International Cricket Council. Welsh cricketers are represented by the England and Wales Cricket Board and play for the England cricket team, and Glamorgan is the Welsh first-class county. A Wales side did exist in the 1920s and 1930s, playing sixteen first-class matches between 1923 and 1930 against touring teams, and beat the West Indies in 1928. The Welsh Cricket Association was formed in 1969. Wales played at the 1979 ICC Trophy by invitation after Gibraltar withdrew, and in the British Isles Championship between 1993 and 2001.
