Lisa Keightley appointed Cricket Australia National Development Lead

Melbourne, 4 September 2026: Former Australia international and experienced coach Lisa Keightley has been appointed Cricket Australia’s National Development Lead, with a focus on identifying and developing the next generation of women’s cricket talent.

Keightley will begin the role Sept. 10 and work across Cricket Australia’s high-performance and pathway programs, supporting emerging players, coaches and development staff nationwide.

The former Australia batter played nine Tests, 82 one-day internationals and one T20 international between 1995 and 2005. Her coaching career has included roles with Australia, England, Western Australia, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Thunder and several overseas franchises.

Cricket Australia Head of National Development Sonya Thompson welcomed the appointment.

“We're delighted to welcome Lisa back to Australian cricket and to have her join Cricket Australia as our National Development Lead.

“Lisa brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked across international, domestic and pathway programs throughout her coaching career.”

Keightley said she was looking forward to helping develop Australian cricket’s emerging talent.

“I'm really excited to take on this role and contribute to the future of Australian cricket.

“I've been fortunate to work with players and coaches at all levels of the game, and one thing I've learned is how important strong pathways and guidance are in helping talent grow and thrive.”
