About Alex Carey

Alex Carey is an Australian wicketkeeper-batter who plays for South Australia and the Adelaide Strikers. He has captained Australia in one-day internationals and been vice-captain in all three formats. Carey played Australian rules football before turning to cricket, captaining the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2010 and returning to South Australia when the club entered the AFL. He first played state cricket as a top-order batter, moved down the order and took up wicketkeeping, and was part of the sides that won the 2023 World Cup and the 2023 World Test Championship final.
