About Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka are administered by Sri Lanka Cricket, hold Full Member status at the International Cricket Council and are known as the Lions. The side first played first-class cricket as Ceylon in 1926-27, became an associate member of the ICC in 1965, appeared at the 1975 World Cup and was granted Test status in 1981 as the eighth Test-playing nation. Sri Lanka won the World Cup in 1996, shared the Champions Trophy in 2002 and won the T20 World Cup in 2014.
