Du Plessis powers Dockers to 31-run win over Glasgow Cosmic

Dublin, 10 September 2026: Faf du Plessis struck a commanding 71 as Rotterdam Dockers secured a 31-run victory over Glasgow Cosmic in the European T20 Premier League at Malahide on Thursday.
Asked to bat first after Glasgow Cosmic won the toss, the Dockers recovered from the loss of Rassie van der Dussen to the first ball of the innings to post an imposing 172 for four from their 19 overs.
Du Plessis was at the heart of the recovery, combining controlled aggression with timely acceleration. The Dockers captain reached his half-century from just 25 balls and went on to make 71 from 42 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes.
Michael Levitt contributed 19 during a 59-run second-wicket stand before Vikramjit Singh provided further momentum with 33 from 25 balls. Heinrich Klaasen then gave the innings a powerful finish, remaining unbeaten on 30 from 15 deliveries, including three sixes, while David Wiese added eight not out from three balls.
Tymal Mills was the pick of Glasgow’s attack with two for 35, while Oliver Davidson and Liam Livingstone claimed a wicket apiece.
Glasgow began their chase briskly but continually lost wickets as the Dockers’ attack prevented any substantial partnership from developing. Jason Roy struck 23 from 11 balls and Moises Henriques made 26 from 13, but Glasgow slipped to 66 for five by the end of the eighth over.
James Neesham attempted to revive the chase with 28 from 17 balls, while Matthew Cross added 16, but the required rate continued to climb.
Logan van Beek and Anrich Nortje were particularly effective, finishing with three wickets each. Van Beek conceded only 19 runs from his four overs, while Nortje returned three for 26. Wiese also picked up two wickets as Glasgow closed on 141 for nine.
The win earned Rotterdam Dockers two points, with du Plessis’ match-shaping innings earning him Player of the Match honours.
