Sydney, 2 November 2026: Mitchell Marsh will captain Australia in three One-Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals against England, with selectors naming two 14-player squads for the series beginning in Perth on November 13.

The announcement provides opportunities for several rising Australian players to strengthen their international credentials, while experienced fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been rested ahead of a demanding Test schedule against New Zealand and India.

West Australian quick Mahli Beardman is among the notable selections, earning places in both squads following his recovery from injury and an impressive return to competitive cricket during Australia A’s recent tour of India.

The 21-year-old’s selection highlights Australia’s efforts to develop its next generation of fast bowlers, particularly with the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup approaching.

“These ODI and T20 matches provide several players, many of whom have had opportunities on recent tours, with a great chance to further demonstrate their ability against very strong opposition.”
